It has always made sense to me that more membranes are ruptured over the full moon leading to more babies being born...also more "crazies" howl and carry on. After all, the moon is closest to the Earth and pulls on bodies of fluid. When I was a nursing student, I worked in a nursing home with several bed-ridden residents whose minds were gone They never saw the night sky, but did indeed become more agitated during the full moon. My thoughts were always that they had headaches and couldn't tell us. Later, as a NICU nurse, we dreaded the full moon weekend as more preemies arrived during that time.
