I've been an associate degree RN and have been for 18 years. It is a very respected profession and made it possible for me to raise my two daughters as a single mom with little to no assistance from their father. It also is a career that my daughters could be proud to tell their friends about. I have had the pleasure to work in a wide variety of types of nursing (mental health hospital based, forensic mental healtj patients in locked facility, director of nursing for an 80 bed ICF faculty, MDS coordinator, and now Care Management helping with disease management, providing education, helping destitute patients afford medications and other health care needs, by doing and assisting all patients with whatever barriers to their health care they may be experiencing and preventing acute hospital admissions. Now that my daughtets are grown i find myself back in school to get my BSN and then on to obtaining my Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner license! !!
